About

At Smart Environments, we are passionate about buildings.

In 2021, the built environment accounted for nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions and with the global population expected to rise to 9 billion by 2037, the importance of efficient building operations and systems has never been so important.

In 2021, the built environment accounted for nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions and with the global population expected to rise to 9 billion by 2037, the importance of efficient building operations and systems has never been so important.

The concept of Smart Environments was born in 2020 during the covid pandemic as a desire to innovate further within the BEMS and HVAC industries, with a particular focus on establishing a vendor agnostic approach to HVAC and BEMS technology. We leverage over 40 years of successful HVAC and BEMS experience alongside new technologies to elevate how buildings perform.

The challenges we face in maintaining the built environment are high, with internal spaces being regularly redefined, stakeholder changes, as well as demands to lower our energy usage and increased awareness in IAQ (indoor air quality). Therefore there are few environments as complex as commercial buildings. At times our buildings can support hundreds or even thousands of users, through which countless HVAC systems support the environmental wellbeing of its stakeholders.

Since 2017, technology has been gathering pace to support innovations such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices, which have vastly improved the functional efficiencies of many spaces. From commercial offices to leisure, healthcare to education, the flexibility and speed of deployment of IOT devices eliminates legacy road blocks such as costs.

The ability of IOT devices to harvest data and send it back to a central point makes them ideal for automating building services, in complex environments. Therefore right now, IoT devices allow the Smart Environments teams to create powerful solutions and automate many aspects of building operations, creating benefits ranging from environmental efficiency and effective energy management. If deployed correctly, smart technologies can reduce overall building costs by 30%.

Smart Building Software

Zeus®, centralises our approach to smart buildings. It provides stakeholders with a single pane of glass (SPoG) and the ability to manage entire estates and building systems from one platform.

The powerful functionality of Zeus® allows for out the box AI functionality such as FDD & FTT, whilst linking in to CAFM systems, further enhancing our ability to elevate the built environment to achieving net zero and sustainable future.
